1/26/13: Books-A-Million Bookfair to Benefit Area Youth

The Greater Birmingham Area Optimist Clubs are sponsoring a Books-A-Million Bookfair in partnership with Miss Leeds Area 2013 Chandler Champion.  The bookfair will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2013, 10am – 3pm at each of the area Books-A-Million stores including:  Alabaster, Brookhighland, Brookwood Village, Hoover, Trussville, Fultondale, Gadsden, Oxford and Tuscaloosa.  Come and meet Chandler, receive a bookmark and learn more about her Miss Alabama literacy platform: “Chandler’s Challenge: Reading is Believing…Don’t Stop Believing.”  Chandler encourages children to “read something every day.”  Present your voucher to the cashier before completing your purchase and the Birmingham Optimist Youth Foundation (501c3) will receive a portion of all voucher sales to benefit schools / organizations in the community in need of books for children.  Vouchers will be available at the door or please visit www.birmingham.al-la-ms.org.  Optimist International is an organization dedicated to “Bringing Out the Best in Kids.”  For more information, please visit www.optimist.org.
