Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in America. Criminals use stolen identities to make purchases, and when the crime is discovered, the crooks move on, leaving their victims to deal with the fraudulent debts. National Protect Your ID Week, October 20-27, encourages everyone to take steps to protect their identities.
