Upcoming Foster Parent Training

 

Gateway / The Alliance offers three foster parent training sessions per year.  Our goal is to provide a comfortable learning environment where participants are given the opportunity to learn about the foster care system, the population we serve, and the values of our program.  Under our training model, each class builds on one another in order to allow participants the opportunity to make an informed decision.  Class members are encouraged to set aside their decision to foster or adopt until the end of the program.  This allows the family to thoroughly assess if fostering or adopting is the right decision for them.      

 

 

Individuals who are interested in attending one of the upcoming foster parent trainings are required to pre-register.  Additionally, we strongly encourage individuals who are interested to attend one of our community orientations.  During these meeting, we give an overview of the training & licensing process and discuss “therapeutic” foster care.
