    To provide case management and family support services to families when reunification to the birth family is the permanency goal or to seek options for children w/o identified permanency resources in Jefferson and Shelby counties. BS degree in Social work, Psychology, Human and Child Development. Ability to work a non-traditional work schedule with some weekend work. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with computers. Ability to lift 20lbs, restrain 100 lbs, and drive for extensive periods of time. Ability to perform CPR and MCS as required.

  • SafeHaven Supervised Visitation Monitor(Contract Position) Shelby County(6)

    Supervise visitations and monitor exchanges at the Shelby County Safe Havens Supervised Visitation and Exchange Center. Ensure fair and respectful treatment of each individual who utilizes the Supervised Visitation Center. Ensure safety of children and adult victims of domestic violence during visits and exchange to avoid re-victimization. Monitor content and interactions during visits and exchange consistent with safety, level of risk, and cultural needs. Monitor, intervene and redirect the parent or child(ren) when exhibiting inappropriate physical or verbal behaviors. Available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, human or child development or related human service field preferred. Two (2) years direct service experience in human service, domestic violence, batterer’s.

  • Cottage Supervisor Evenings 3pm-11pm(2)

    To supervise Residential Life Staff and two residential cottages. To provide a therapeutic, secure, and healthy environment for clients. To help develop skills that builds self-esteem, self-confidence and positive peer relationship(s) in a therapeutic manner. Three years’ experience in a residential setting working with emotionally conflict children/teen. One year of supervisory experience preferred. Ability to lift and/or restrain clients weighting in excess of 100 pounds, sit, stand, talk, hear and reach. Alabama driver’s license and record acceptable to agency insurers. Ability to meet background check & health standards.

  • Part-Time Adult Psychiatrist(1)

    Part-Time Adult Psychiatrist for the Shelby area. Responsible for medical aspects of client care. Available 4 time a month/4-5 hours.  To medically evaluate clients to determine if the need for psycho-topical medications exists and to monitor the effects medications have upon the client.  To assist in clarifying diagnoses of clients to assure that the best possible combination of psychotherapy and drug therapy, if warranted, can occur.

  • Residential Life Specialist(5)

    To provide supervision & life skills training to residential residents. HS/GED req., 2 yrs. exp. w/children & psychiatric exp. preferred.  Shift work. Valid AL drivers license with good driving record, reliable transportation, auto ins. w/bodily injury limits of 100/300 and the ability to meet minimum health standards requirements.  Meals included during working shift. The shifts needed are 3pm-11pm(4); 7am-3pm(1); Floaters for any shift needed(2).
