Gateway's Community Connections Rain Barrel Workshop

Gateway's Community Connections Department teamed up with The Alabama Environmental Council (AEC) to teach a group of middle school students the importance of taking care of the environment. During a workshop in June 2012 the students were given the opportunity through a donation from Jenetta Johnson of Huntsville Alabama to the AEC for all of them to make rain barrels.  The rain barrels were made from syrup barrels which were generously donated by Birmingham Coca-Cola!

This summer camp was a free service through Gateway's Community Connections Department in an effort to impact the community and reduce the rate of youth that will try drugs during their adolescent years. The camp offered alternative activities to middle school student that will help them to stay busy and away from drug use. Try this one with your kids every day. Place your child's name in the blank space.
