Vote “YES” on the September 18th Constitutional Amendment to Keep Alabama Working!
A “YES” vote will have a direct impact on the safety and health of Alabama families, as well as the economic development future of our state. If passed, this referendum keeps tens of thousands of hard-working Alabamians on the job. It helps local doctors stay in their communities, ensures that local hospitals remain open and guarantees that our prisons are properly staffed so that 9,000 inmates will stay behind bars instead of being released into our communities.
Since January 2010, almost a billion dollars in annual expenses have been cut from state budgets. Today, taxpayers are spending $648 million less each year to run state government than they were just a few months ago. The number of state employees has been reduced by 2,300. Alabama leaders are keeping their pledge to tighten our belt and live within our means.
