Gateway is funded primarily through state, local and federal contracts, United Way, private grants and individual donations. We are very conscious of the trust placed in us, to not only provide the highest quality services to those who need them most, but to also be good stewards of the funding we receive. Transparency is part of that stewardship. Here you will find our annual report, our most recent audited financial report, and our most recent IRS 990.

Gateway’s accounting system is consistent with General Accepted Governmental Accounting Principles (GAAP), the industry standard. We maintain sufficient financial accounting records documenting all funding sources and applicable expenditures of all funds from all sources. These documents are maintained at Gateway’s Birmingham headquarters at 1401 20th Street South. Gateway is audited annually by an independent accounting firm, and the audit is made available to the public.
